Due to the weather, it has been about two and half months since our home has been properly aired out. Those windows are sealed and things have been getting a wee bit stuffy.
Enter SunLeaf Naturals' Reed Diffusers. It's a familiar system-- stick the reeds in the jar and the fragrance gracefully and steadily disperses into the air. Unlike those headache-inducing chemical air fresheners, these are made from essential oils and the glass bottle is filled with stones. Fragrances include cinnamon cypress, cedar mint and our favorite, orange ginger. It's citrus and spicy in a genuinely fresh way, exactly what we want our living space to smell like.
The Waconia-based company was started by Teresa Andrys. She spent her career developing products for major corporations and didn't like some of the unnatural practices she saw (and something tells us we don't want to know). So she started up SunLeaf Naturals in 2007.
And it's a good thing, because we really need a breath of fresh air and we just can't depend on that groundhog not to see his shadow on Monday.
SunLeaf Naturals Reed Diffuser, $28, available at Twin Cities Green, 2405 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls, 612-374-4581.
