Yesterday, we got caught, walking outdoors, in the torrential snow. Rather than get upset about the re-frozen snow hairdo, we felt we deserved a cupcake.
So we went to the experts at Cupcake. This artsy little cafe in St. Paul (you can't miss it, there's a big blue tea cup coming out of the side of the red brick building), is so named for its ever-changing, always-tasty selection of cupcakes.
We recommend the S'more, with its moist chocolate base and ooey-gooey marshmallow topping that's roasted to golden brown perfection (which never seems to happen over a real campfire).
They also have innovative concoctions, like Orange Dream, and good old basics like Betty Crocker, which has vanilla cake, pink vanilla frosting, and happy round sprinkles.
If you're not feeling a whole cupcake, or want to try four different flavors in one sitting (no judgment!), go for a baby cake because the deliciousness is not minimized with the size. Cupcake also has a great selection of real (i.e. sandwich, soup) food, but we don't blame you if you go straight to dessert -- you know we do.
