Ladies will use any excuse to congregate.

In the '50s, it was Tupperware. In the '70s, it was consciousness-raising. And in the '90s, it was insanity (read: Botox).

In the 00s, Bebe Babble is offering an excuse to gather for a delightful reason -- jewelry, specifically at trunk show with Renee Larson.

In step with the bubbly brights all ready associated with Bebe Babble, Larson offers polished pops of color in all of her pieces. From beautiful peacock-emblazoned resin earrings ($36) to necklaces strung with mini-hydrangea-esque clusters of antique beads ($36), it's fun flower flair at its finest. Plus, each piece has a homemade tag denoting its vintage factor on the back: beads, chain, pattern.

Minneapolis-based Larson gravitated towards the jewelry biz early, studying metalsmithing and design in college (so you know the pieces are well-made), but her line is still in the tot stage at 2 years old. Although Bebe Babble doesn't currently carry Larson's creations (they hope to after the event), you can find them regularly at Karma, Design Collective and etsy.com.

So do double-duty on July 9th and indulge in stress-free style for kids and you. Plus there will be appetizers.

Not that you needed the extra incentive.

Bebe Babble, 3904 Sunnyside Rd, Edina, 952-922-2020.
