Something's fishy -- and we're not complaining.

We may be in the land of 10,000 lakes, but the land of 10,000 fresh fish joints we are not. Luckily, it's quality over quantity that counts, and we have one heck of a quality one for you -- The Tin Fish.

The Tin Fish was born in 2001 in San Diego to Joseph Melluso, a tried and true fish man who started working at a seafood market in Long Island at the ripe age of 11. Our own sidle-up eatery opened three years later (the second in the now nationwide chain), bringing fresh fish into the Twin Cities every day.

They've got us hook, line, and sinker with their fish tacos. Dive into one of their infamous shrimp ($4.95 each), or swim away from the pack and test out the mahi mahi ($4.95 each). But really, you can't go wrong with any of the 10 or so on the list. Each is loaded with cheddar, salsa, ranch, hot sauce (but not too hot), and shredded cabbage and wrapped in one honking flour tortilla.

Pair your mexi-fish feast with a basket of zesty-seasoned waffle fries ($2.95) and one of Mama Kutzie's homemade brownies ($1.50). Then pop a squat in a Tin Fish wooden lawn chair and drink in the sunset across Lake Calhoun (either eat early or late because at peak dinner time the line is a mile long).

Out of the all the fish joints in the sea, Tin Fish is where we'll be!
