Bruschetta ($8) for breakfast? Yes, please -- with warm ricotta, honey, currants, sliced prosciutto.
Good Earth
The ten grain hot cakes ($6.95) with stoneground whole wheat, unbleached flour, sunflower seeds, spring wheat, red winter wheat, rye, honey and buttermilk are healthy-ish and hearty, especially when you add bananas. Or make them at home with this mix.
Duplex
You don't need to eat eggs and pancakes for breakfast. This is probably the best grilled cheese ($8) in town. It has raw milk white cheddar, avocado and tomatoes on multi-grain bread.
Wilde Roast
Order the Classic Oscar Breakfast Sandwich with and egg and cheese on toast, an English muffin, or croissant for $5.50 and have plenty of funds left over to add bacon, ham or sausage ($1)
and for the latte of your choice.
Cosmos
Get your heart-healthy McCann's Irish oatmeal with a sweet bruleed top ($8). It's served with seasonal berries, raisins and cinnamon. Weird how oatmeal tastes so much better when someone else makes it.
