It's a party weekend, people!
Spectacles Party
Eye wear designer/personality Robert Marc will be at
InVision for trunk shows this weekend. You're invited to the cocktail party to celebrate his first trip to the Twin Cities (Fri., 5 to 7 p.m., Galleria location). There will be champagne, hors d'oeuvres from Crave, music by the Allison Rainey Trio and witticisms by the glasses man.
Arty Party
Drop by the opening fete for
"Dime- Paintings by Drew Beson." The local artist will be displaying 10 new large-scale paintings, inspired by accidents. (Fri., 7 to 10 p.m.,

Jewelry Party
On Nov. 14, swing by the
Local-to-Global Jewelry Artist Mart at the Walker (11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 1750 Hennepin Av., Mpls., 612-375-7600). The one-day event features artists from around the world, but look for locals Tia Keobounpheng, Ann Lambrecht, Karin Jacobson and Lauren Nicole and chocolate samples by B.T. McElrath.
Fundraiser Party
In Uganda, Africa, complications related to childbirth kill 150 women every week. So
Blooma yoga studio is setting out to make a difference with the
Blooming in Uganda initiative. Their gala is on Fri. night ($50 per person, Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum) with guest speaker Krista Tippett, host of NPR's Speaking of Faith.
Cirque Party
Another night, another fundraiser. On Sat., the
CURE Gala, which benefits the American Cancer Society ($75 per person, Seven Ultralounge). Tickets include complimentary appetizers, Summit Beer, Skyy Vodka cocktails and a gift bag. And there will be cirque du soleil-style performances. Contortionists welcome.
