Cold Remedies

Todays pic This has been one brutal season. If you haven't been stuck in the snow, you've probably been stuck at home with a nasty cold or flu or some combination of the two.

Here are a few of our top feel-better tips.

Soup
Chicken noodle from Yum! is just like homemade, but you don't have to wait for it to simmer. Buy it by the quart and freeze it so you'll never sneeze without it.

Tea
If your fever persists, call the doctor. If you just can't kick the cold, try the experts at Infinitea. They'll come up with a potion for what ails you, possibly the Iron Goddess of Mercy. Hey, it worked for an emperor.

Cards
Lucky you! You're not the one stuck in bed. Getting this Zeichen Press card (and maid service?) would definitely cheer us up.

Soap
Dear germy, please wash your hands. A lot. Not that you can smell it, but Caldrea's ginger pomelo is rather divine. Those around you will appreciate it. Also, we dabbed Galen Lab's Shea Cream (available at the Wedge) under our nose during our last bout of bleh and didn't have any irritation.

Ginger ale
Fresh Ginger Ale by Bob Cost isn't made-in-Minnesota, but we discovered it at the Food and Wine Show last weekend and it's life-changing. Stock up at Lunds and Byerly's (Big Bowl Express), Kowalski's and select Cubs. It has fresh pieces of actual ginger in it (in ginger ale, imagine!). It's a smidge spicy and will actually calm your stomach.

Tissue
If you're going to be all snotty, make sure to carry Kleenex with you at all times. With one of these cute lady bug covers by BagItDesigns2 (which has a Minnesota studio), you won't lose it in your purse. Oh, and gesundheit.
