The origin of the species began with cake. Then came the cupcake. Then the cakeball.
Now local guy Ryan Taylor and his partner Theresa Harrison are offering a highly evolved specimen: Cakedy. A small candy bar of dense cake mixed with frosting and dipped in rich chocolate. The result is gooey, doughy and delicious.
Typically, the new dessert comes through the mail for just $3 for packs of three (plus postage, available online).
Beneficial mutations like RedHead (strawberry) and Peanutter can be spotted alongside classic variations such as Vanocolate (chocolate-covered vanila) and Choco Chocatus (chocolate-chocolate).
Good thing they won't be extinct any time soon.
