Luckily, when it comes to fashion, you can skip ahead with Hackwith Design House. St. Paul-based designer Lisa Hackwith and her husband Dustin launched the company more than a year ago as a hobby. Now they've taken the men's and women's business full-time.

The designs, available at shops nationwide and locally, are the rare combination of fashion-forward and sweet. For fall, check out the masterfully draped midi and maxi skirts and the cleverly cut tops. Reasonably priced, they offer a fast-track to an in-style seasonal look.
