Shop
Resolution: Browse a new local shop.
So
Q Boutique (1404 W. Lake St., Mpls., 612-821-0000) isn't totally new, but it's in a new location (Uptown), with some hot new labels (Vivienne Westwood and Vena Cava for women and Ben Sherman for men), and new price points (lower), but the same attitude (cool). Plus style advice from a knowledgeable staff (priceless). Check out the shop's serious selection of fun going-out clothes for men and women.
Eat
Resolution: Order something without sugar in it.
The
heirloom grain salad from
Bacio or
Ciao Bella or
Zelo is a good antidote for all of the cookies we've been eating lately. This hearty salad is chopped with with quinoa, farro, spinach, asparagus, provolone, Parmigiano Reggiano, avocado, and hearts of palm tossed in a lemony vinaigrette.
See
Resolution: More culture is good culture.
This weekend, check out the new exhibit at
Altered Esthetics (1224 Quincy St. NE, Mpls., 612-378-8888). The
Art of Performance looks at ballet, jazz, rock and theater as portrayed through the visual arts of painting, photography and sculpture. If you have any post-New Year's Eve energy, the opening reception is on Fri. night.
