We're so bored with our closets. But when wallets are thin, high-end designer brands seem like they should be forsaken, but not at prices that we found at GH2.
At the Grethen House spin-off, designer becomes (more) affordable through both consignment and straight-from-the-store outlet pieces.
We're not one to name drop, but on the consignment side, we dug up treasures like a petal pink embroidered tunic dress from Lela Rose (who designed Jenna Bush's bridesmaids' dresses), regularly $1100 but all yours for only $220; Cynthia Steffe spring-weight military jacket for $140 (regularly $360); and a plush Italian cashmere sweater for only $89 in spring's must-have nude. Even just flicking through the racks, we saw numerous pieces from brands like Moschino Cheap & Chic, Armani, Missoni, and Comme des Garcons.
Bargains abound in the outlet side too. Like a pearlized sequined Yigal Azrouel shrug (with tags), which is down to $357 from $1190.
One question: who would give this stuff away? Uh, don't answer that...we just want our wardrobe to benefit from their loss.GH2, 318 E Hennepin Av., Mpls. 612-378-0509.
