When you were a kid, fashion was simple. Shoes didn't belong on particular feet; pockets were made for stashing pretzels.
But since then, children's clothes have seriously grown up.
Minneapolis designer Amanda Rydell has given them a playful push. A full-time nanny, she knows a thing or two about kids and has created My Little Dear. Her label combines sweet ruffle tees, flower headbands and fun screen-printed graphics that sometimes feature educational tidbits like this ABC shirt.
And there's nothing small-minded about that.
My Little Dear, $15 to $30 in sizes from 3 to 6 months up to 4T. Meet the designer at the Crafty Baby Trunk Show with locally-made products for babies, kids and kids at heart by Sweetpea and Co., Too Many Suitors and Numsi. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacifier, 310 E Hennepin Av, Mpls, 612-623-8123.
