The coffee bar opened in Calhoun Square this week by the same people who brought you Bull Run. (Long story, but Rustica now houses Dogwood.)

Owner Greg Hoyt has perfected the art of coffee with intense attention to detail and caffeine connoisseurship, characteristics of coffee's third wave. (First wave was instant and second was the chains that shall not be mentioned, but one of them used to occupy the exact same spot.)

The rich espresso drinks come to life with locally sourced milk from Autumnwood Farm. Our new obsession: The perfectly balanced miel, sweetened with just the right amount of honey.

Bonus: The highly trained baristas turn each drink into a work of art.

Sure beats your usual morning grind.
