Freebie: Just Eat It

March 4th, 2011 Issue dayid

Todays pic Dinner and a movie? So old school. Now you can eat and explore the culture scene. Here are few offerings:

BBQ + the Bard
"To unpathed waters, undreamed shores." Trust us, Shakespeare is even better on a full stomach. Enter BBQ & the Bard. On March 10 and 17, you can enjoy burgers (beef or veggie), potato salad, beans and brownies at the Aloft (6 p.m., 900 Washington Av S, Mpls, 612-455-8400) and then check out the Guthrie's current production of "A Winter's Tale" (7:30 p.m., $35 for food and show, ticket info here).

Feed + Fuel
Tonight, enjoy a sneak peek of the long-awaited Steven Brown restaurant Tilia (2726 W43rd St, Mpls). Drop on by between 6 and 9 p.m., donate $25 to sustainable energy advocates Linden Hills Power & Light and be the first to sample the food and sip the wine and beer. Check out the discussion tab on Tilia's Facebook page for additional details.

Pig out + patronize
Fact: Food brings people together. For Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics (FEAST), you get to eat and give back to the community. On Saturday (6 to 9 p.m., Minneapolis Eagles Club, 2507 E 25th St, Mpls), bring a $10 to $20 donation (up to you!) for supper and a ballot. Post meal, you cast a vote for one of a smattering of project options. The winner will be funded by the event proceeds. You'll find out how your cash was used at the next FEAST.
