Engineering a chance encounter with Mr. Skyway. Defying the laws of physics with a good brassiere. There's a science to everything.

Including the social scene. Enter Social Science -- the Science Museum's first-ever party for grown-ups 21 and older.

For $8 (Science Museum and MPR members) or $12 (non-members) on Wednesday evening, you'll enjoy exclusive exhibit access, music food sampling by Golden Fig, Tea Source and Crave. Adults-only activities include Pictionary, tech games and a photo booth and a CASH BAR. Yes, you can cocktail with King Tut, who never even reached the legal drinking age (being a product of incest and all).

You won't have to worry about stepping on any pint-sized explorer to gawk at the dinosaurs, play with hydraulics in the experiment gallery and watch the river rise before your eyes in the safety of the Mississippi River Gallery.

Don't forget to bring your I.D. and curiosity.

The rest is chemistry

Social Science, 7 to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Science Museum of Minnesota, 120 Kellogg Blvd W, Saint Paul. Tickets start at $8 for members and $12 for non-members, but go up if you want to add access to the King Tut exhibit ($21 for non-members) and a screening of "Mummies" ($27). Tickets available at the door or call 651-221-9444.
