Fantasize
Do you need to actually be getting married to wear a white gown? If you're not going to a wedding, that is? Well, brides-to-be (and ivory dress connoisseurs) won't want to miss the straight off-the-runway gowns at Monique Lhuillier (through Saturday, 3928 W 50th St, Edina, by appointment 612-929-0747).
Snack
It's about time!
Cupcake Saturday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mitrebox, 213 Washington Av N) is back with Sheela Namakkal's cupcakes (pumpkin cream cheese, chocolate whiskey, caramel apple, vegan Fauxstess and gluten-free chai), hot toddies, organic milk, coffee and Adam Turman's artwork.
Redecorate
Swing by the charming new occasional shop, the
Bee Cottage (9 to 5 p.m. through Saturday, 441 2nd St, Excelsior). They're opening up special this weekend. We love the combination of talents (remember the charming Marshall Field's/Macy's Paris Flea Market?).
Shop
Oh, this is a sad one. Bring your tissues to
Picky Girl's closing sale (through 2 p.m. on Saturday, 949 Grand Av, St. Paul, 651-698-4107). Sniffle, sniffle.
Stock up
James Jeans (sizes 26 to 32, originally up to $22o) for $40 (less than the Gap). Uh, yes, please (10 a.m., Saturday, Mode, 7788 Main St, Maple Grove).
See
We don't see many movies these days, but we did catch a preview of
"The Rum Diary". We recommend it because:
a. You feel like you've been on a stunning beach vacation in Puerto Rico.
b. Amber Heard's perfect lipstick is an inspiration and prompted us to order the "sinner" version of
our signature lipstick.
c. Johnny Depp is awesomely talented and crush-worthy, when not freaking it up.
